Labrador Retriever Training Day
Next day: TBC . The format will be to allow everyone who has entered the champs on the following weekend to train for the events they entered.
These Training days will introduce new comers to the basic principles of retrieving for hunting, trialing or for those who just want to bring out the natural ability in their dog. First session will cover basic requirements such as walking at heel, steady to shot and game etc. We will be using dummies at first but pigeons and gamebirds will be available.

| CLRC Championship Show 2011 The club held a successful weekend of showing on 10th & 11th December 2011. Our Best In Show winner for Saturday under Australian judge Margaret Wedgwood was Ch Vitesse Petite Vita owned by Robyn & Graeme Palmer, handled by Robyn. |

Our Best In Show winner for Sunday under Canterbury judge Sylvia Schmidt was Croftsway Margarita owned and
handled by Julie Bedford-Pope.
On a sad note this was to be the last show for our Veteran in Show, Ch Glenstar Queen of the Jungle who died very
suddenly on 6th January 2012. Shika was not only very successful in the show ring winning over 50 challenge points, but
was the one dog that captured the hearts of Len, Betty, Desiree and Aleisha more than others before or after her.
Shika won Best Bitch at the 2010 National Dog show at 10 years of age with her son going Best of Breed.

CLRC Field Trials
The South Island Field Trial Championship was hosted by CLRC at Easter 2012.
Club members took out the first three placings in the Retriever Championship as follows:
1st Sue Sinclair & Tatty
2nd Graeme Johns & King
3rd Graeme Palmer & Zak.
