Club Information

Ribbon Parade
We aim to hold four of these every year and like to think of them as family fun days. The atmosphere is relaxed and new members are introduced to the techniques of showing. Champion dogs are not eligible for entry.

Open Shows
Held once per year; a more formal show where prizes can be won. You and your dog must be members of the New Zealand Kennel Club to exhibit. It is not planned to hold an open show in 2004.

Championship Show
Held once per year. This is our silver trophy show. As we are a small club we try and hold this show in conjunction with other clubs. 2004 we are hopefully to again hold the event at Canterbury Show weekend.

Field Trials
We are one of the few specialist breed clubs in New Zealand who run championship field trials. These are held at Easter Weekend in conjunction with the Canterbury Gun Dog Club..

There are classes for puppies and novice dogs as well. Classes are held over land and water.

For those owners who do not shoot, field trials are an excellent alternative to utilise your Labrador's natural retrieving instincts. For shooters, field trials are an excellent extension of your interests.

A good introduction to Field Trials is to come along and assist on one of the two days. This gives you an up close look at the dogs working in the field.

Newsletter
These are published a few times per year and are packed with interesting articles, club news and results. Members contributions are always welcome.
